I've recovered this journal from kilorat via abuse support teams. kilorat aquired this journal by logging into my account without my permission and transferring it. If he had simply asked I would have given it to him. Same thing with yerf.com.

But anyway, that's enough drama. What should I do with yerf.com until I fix the web server? I've been thinking of simply pointing it at artspots if that's OK with artspots admins.

What do the users think I should do with yerf.com for now?

Point it to Artspots and let it rest in peace.

Leave it as Rat did, point it to artspots and just let it die already.

As above. Bonus marks if old links to Yerf artist galleries go to the right place. If the DNS provider is handling the redirect then it may be done automatically. If it's going to an Apache server (either yours or someone else's), this can probably be achieved with the following .htaccess or httpd.conf directive on that server:

RedirectMatch 301 (.*) http://yerf.artspots.com$1

Blah. I'm still alone in wanting the old Yerf back, standing as a sort of high-standard of art. Oh well.

As long as you don't point it to a god damn Rickroll...

There's room in the "market" for a site that's picky. But I think it would need a fresh start to be competitive in today's fandom, and part of that would be a new name so it wasn't tied to the old identity.

totally

I completely agree with you and have been trying to work on it. Like I said I've contacted the artspots admins about completely just forwarding it to there, but they've given no response.

Seriously, you should hand the domain over to someone with the skills and resources to do something with it now.

You've already done a lot of damage to your own reputation and to YERF. Move on. Give others who have the financial resources and abilities to make something happen, freedom to do with YERF.com what they will.

If you are genuine in saying: "If he had simply asked I would have given it to him. Same thing with yerf.com." then there is no reason why Artspots shouldn't be treated in the same way. Give it to someone to make something of it.

Re: totally

Why do you need to wait for a response? They were fine with it pointing to Artspots before so I don't see why that would change.

Quite frankly it seems obvious that you like the attention as it takes all of thirty seconds to add an appropriate link and upload the new page. Even I with my piss poor HTML skills could do and you shouldn't even have to as the link was already there until you messed with it.

"If he had simply asked I would have given it to him. Same thing with yerf.com."

We the community are asking you. Give it up, get over it already you've had your 15 minutes of internet fame.

Dingo-

I don't care what you do with Yerf at this point. What I would really like is for my email address to be removed from the autoforward on art-admin@yerf.com and all others. I get too much damn spam from it.

Yerf is dead. Point it to Artspots and let it go already. Frankly, you've been only a nuisance and the sole being who ultimately killed the website. I think your reputation has already been scarred from taking donations and not giving us any results.

So, yeah.
